Easily one of the most influential musicians in the history of jazz, Miles Davis is the archetypal jazz artist: a brilliant, elusive and enigmatic virtuoso. Since he arrived in New York in the late 1940s to work with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, Davis has transformed the jazz idiom, initiating a series of new jazz movements beginning with the cool jazz period in the early 1950s and continuing with the release of the groundbreaking album Kind of Blue at the end of the decade. But the accolades from jazz critics and fans usually end with his late 1960s work; around that time, Miles abandoned conventional jazz practices to experiment with avant-garde improvisation, rock music and electric instruments, using elaborate, electronic postproduction techniques to hone his studio recordings. Those explorations became what is now known as "fusion." Music journalist Tingen meticulously dissects Miles's bands, sidemen and musical techniques, offering a wealth of candid firsthand commentary on Miles and his music from former sidemen like pianist Herbie Hancock, guitarist John McLaughlin, saxophonist Wayne Shorter and other musicians, as well as Miles's friends, lovers and ex-wives. Most importantly, Tingen examines Miles's always turbulent but wildly creative relationship with Teo Macero, his producer at Columbia Records. Tingen can sometimes be at once presumptuous and contradictory, summarily declaring, for instance, that a recording should have been radically trimmed even after repeatedly praising Miles's knack for minimalist masterpieces. Several fine Davis biographies have appeared over the past few years, mostly ignoring or downplaying much of the music discussed here by Tingen, a music journalist based in Scotland and California. Arguing that Davis succumbed to rock influences to the detriment of his jazz stylings, many critics and listeners have denigrated the trumpeter's electric recordings. Tingen traces these experiments using examples from 1967 onward, culminating in Davis's 1969 masterpiece, Bitches Brew. That recording opened floodgates of criticism, but it also attracted a number of new listeners who welcomed the later music of 1969-75, as well as the work following his 1981 return from retirement until his death in 1991. Tingen recognizes that Davis recorded some duds, but he convincingly shows that his subject was entirely serious about developing this style. Featuring firsthand accounts from more than 50 musicians, producers, and colleagues, including Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Wayne Shorter, this proves an invaluable work on an oft-neglected aspect of Davis's career. For the first 20 years of Miles Davis' prolific career in jazz, few critics could find anything negative to say about his music at all. But when Miles went electric in the late 1960s, the traditionalists turned on him with charges of "selling out" to commercial interests, record company politics, and worse. "The greatest example of self-violation in the history of art," wrote Stanley Crouch, quoting Nietzsche's assessment of Wagner. Tingen dismisses such critics and in this book explores the great musician's electric music on its own terms. Tingen's research is exhaustive. He interviews more than 50 of Miles' sidemen, producers, friends, and lovers from the period to convincingly make the case that Davis' recordings from this era are serious music. Not only did Miles discover and nurture a generation of musicians now at the forefront of jazz, Tingen argues, he took jazz improvisation to even more challenging, if sublime, levels. Above all, Tingen paints a sensitive portrait of a musician struggling with age and ill health and the demands of art and fame and desperate to return jazz to the center of African American youth culture. The best book on Miles electric work

This is my favorite Miles Davis book ever and I have almost every one. I've been a huge fan for years of Miles and that hasn't changed. Paul Tingen has written a useful, interesting, and entertaining guide to my favorite period of Miles' music. Part scholarship, part fan interest, part thoughtful consideration, I can't say enough good things about this book. I go back to it year after year. Thanks Paul for teaching me so much about a topic I already knew a good bit about, and in such a well-written and welcoming way.

Very frustrating read

As with most reviews of this book, I must take issue with Paul Tingen's "airy-fairy" descriptors and wholly pretentious attempts at New Agey philosophizing the electric ouevre of Miles Davis. In short, I tried reading this book from beginning to end, but instead found myself diving into bits here and there, as the reading of this book became extremely tedious and frustrating. The best aspect of this book is the extremely thorough documentation of the recordings and live performances from 1968 to 1991, Miles electric period. The worst aspect is the BS thrown in the midst of mostly okay writing that detracts from the documentative aspects of the book and ruins any sense of historical "vibe" which Is immediately summoned whenever I listen to any of Miles' music from this period.

Ambient Reading - Could Have Been Great...

Re-read comments. Ok, yeah the book is good enough to re-read but I find myself rolling my eyes at some of the goofy things Tingle writes. Here's a goody: page 72 - "... but also expanded the sonic palette of jazz and rock by adding BASS CLARINET and extensive percussion. Bother were novel sounds in jazz and rock music around 1969."

Tingle shows his ignorance of jazz music with comments like this. Had the guy a modicum of research on this point he'd have discovered the magnificent Eric Dolphy, a virtuoso player who lead his own bands, played with Coltrane's band - notably the Village Vanguard recordings, and was even briefly considered for Miles' band. And the comment about extensive percussion. Hasn't this guy ever heard of Tito Pueto, Mongo Santamaria, and Dizzy's Afro Cuban jazz?

This book is full of good information but it's also full of ignorant, uninformed comments such as the one I cited above.

Paul Tingen's account of Miles Davis' electric years provides the best information I've read about this period. I was especially pleased to find a lot of quotes from Pete Cosey, Reggie Lucas, Mtume, Al Foster, Michael Henderson, Dave Liebman, Dominique Gaumont and Sonny Fortune, maybe my favorite lineup from the 69 - 74 years. By the way, if you are interested in this era there is lots of video footage availble on the Web, especially at that ultra popular video site that starts with a "You" and ends with a "Tube" which I'm avoiding in type because for some weird reason, Amazon keeps deleting this review.

Ok, so I've told you this is the best information available on the electric period (as far as I know). I've read several biographies, including the mammoth Chambers tome and almost all of these seem to dismiss this period of Miles' work. Tingen at least has some very positive things to say...

However, this book is loaded with goofy assertions, especially over-use of the words and expressions "ambient", "beginner's mind", "Zen", "transcend and include". Tingen also goes at length to explain Wilber's theory of holons. I couldn't care less about holons... just give me the #@$% details Tingen. Another thing I found annoying was Tingen's outright proclaimation that the November 69 sessions (that brought you Big Fun) were a failure. Nonsense. "Great Expectations" is a high-water mark in this period in my opinion. In fact, the band I play in "Cannibal Kitchen" covers this piece of music (admittedly we eventually move into a surreal 2 chord vamp). The repetition is no different than say... "Nefertiti". "Great Expectations" is hardly "boring" as Tingen writes. Tingen brings up these sessions several times and every single time he qualifies it with "the failed". If the sessions are so bad, why does Amazon keep selling out of Big Fun? Why did Sony Music release an expensive SACD version of "Big Fun". I don't think they would be making an investment like that for "failed" sessions. Admitedly, "Go Ahead John" can get on my wick depending on my mood (sometimes I like it) but the tracks used to create Go Ahead John weren't from the, ah em, "failed" November 69 sessions. I just found his opinionated fluff really irritating in places.

And that brings up another problem with all of these books I've read, including this one. All of these authors seem determined to pontificate and make pronouncements about what is good and what is not so good. Clearly, almost everything Miles did was interesting at the very least and most of it exceptionally good considering what was occurring in music at the time much of this music was made manifest.

At one point Tingen becomes bold enough to assert that "Yesternow" from the "Jack Johnson" release would be better if 5 minutes were hacked off of the end... what the hey?! Ok now he's just trying to create controversy. What an incredible arrogant thing to write. Who does this guy think he is anyway? Teo Macero?

There is a great session history and discography at the back of the book that Miles collectors will find very useful.

Subtract 1 star for over-use of the word ambient (to the point of irritation) in a book about Miles Davis. If Tingen loves the word "ambient" so much he should write something about Brian Eno. Next up for Tingen, a book about the ambient drumming styles of Tony Williams and Jack DeJohnette. Sheesh,ambient this, ambient that. Lame.

Subtract 1 star for all the philosophical mumbo-jumbo.

Still a good book but the guy ruined what could have been a great book with all the cosmik debris and over analysis of Miles' work (and life for that matter). Buy it because as far as I can tell, it's the only really decent book about this electric era but be prepared to be irritated with the overabundance of psychedelic, candy-floss profundities.

About the Author

S�bastien Chartrand has worked primarily in international criminal law since becoming a member of the Quebec Bar. He has been the legal defense assistant in cases before the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and Ex-Yugoslavia. He also did a legal internship for the Rwandan Tribunal in 2009. John Philpot has more than 25 years of experience as a criminal defense lawyer, including 20 years in international criminal justice. He has represented clients before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, including the Appeal Court in the Hague, and the International Criminal Court. He has been the chief organizer of three international criminal law conferences. They both live in Montreal.

The main additions to the fifth edition, optical and cellular networks, are in Chapters 17 and 18 and include Internet basics. Dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) exploded when the International Telecommunications Union issued a grid of wavelengths for DWDM and coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM). Devices to implement DWDM, such as arrayed waveguide gratings, fiber Bragg gratings, and thin-film filters, are discussed. Digital and analog system applications of WDM, including digital transmission infrastructure for telephony with local exchange and intercarrier loops, local area networks, and digital loop carrier technology, are included.

A new Internet section includes protocol basics, routers, switches, and add/drop multiplexers (electronic and optical). This transition into wide-area networks with optical switching, including multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) and generalized MPLS with all optical switching and crossconnects, is made possible by adding a label ahead of IP packet headers. Also, a new section on broadband analog DWDM updates the section on broadband RF signals on first-generation fiber optic CATV networking.

Chapter 17 now includes Bluetooth technology with hardware and link connection, and packet management software aspects for personal area wireless interconnectivity among devices within a home/office environment. Also added is "Wi-Fi," an unlicensed 2.4-GHz, IEEE 802.1lb wireless local-area network (WLAN) standard with very low transmission power for short-range wireless LANs in public places such as waiting rooms, coffee shops, convention sites, and airports.

Pedagogical components are improved with the addition of Chapter Previews. Also, the Abbreviations and Acronyms table has been updated.

ORGANIZATION OF THIS TEXT

Chapter 1 provides a review of tuned circuits and amplifiers for continuity with previous courses. There is more material on lownoise amplifiers and saturation characteristics in Chapter 7. RF oscillators (Chapter 2) are considered as stable tuned amplifiers with well-defined feedback arrangements. Oscillators also provide the carrier signal for subsequent modulation in transmitters. A section on phase noise has been included in Chapter 17.

Development of the frequency domain and the signal spectra of common periodic waveforms in Chapter 3 include Fourier transforms and Fourier series analysis. Noise fundamentals in Chapter 4 include a typical treatment enhanced with circuit noise power analysis using shot and thermal noise spectral density techniques. System noise figure and temperature are included.

A detailed derivation of the equation for the system noise figure is presented in Chapter 5, which also introduces communication systems and amplitude modulation. Other aspects of noise and signal-to-noise ratio are introduced in the context of their effects on analog receivers in Chapter 5 and in their statistical nature as it affects transmission error in pulsed and digital data systems in Chapter 13. The continuous information signals discussion in Chapter 5 along with the digital information signal discussion in Chapter 12 constitute a broad overview of information theory from a nonstatistical perspective.

Chapters 1, 2, 6, 7, and 9 provide most of the analog circuit analysis and design component of the textbook. The circuit details may be skipped by those who have time only for system-level concepts. Chapters 5, 8, 17, and the first five sections of Chapter 7 provide coverage for receiver systems and AM/AM-sideband communication. Mixer circuit design is presented in Chapter 7, along with a section on Butterworth and Chebyshev bandpass filter circuit design. As is the case with all the chapters that include circuit analysis and design, computer circuit simulations and design program examples are included.

Chapter 8 completes the system-level discussion of amplitude modulation begun in Chapter 5. In addition to various sideband systems, Chapter 8 presents frequency-division multiplex and quadrature-multiplex concepts, including Costas loop analysis for suppressed carrier demodulation. The voltage-controlled oscillator, including integrated circuit VCOs, and the phase detector of Chapter 9 are combined to produce the phase-locked loop of Chapter 10. Phase-locked loop applications in communication and instrumentation are so widespread that a full chapter is devoted to them. The most successful approach is to present PLL basics (through Section 10-2) in an introductory communication course and then discuss loop dynamics with FSK and synthesizers in a later course.

AM, FM, and PM basics are the same today as they have always been, but they will be implemented in digital form as ASK, OOK, FSK, PSK, and compound modulations such as QAM. Chapters 11, 12, 13, 17, and 18 address these topics, with Chapters 11 and 12 forming the conceptual bridge for the applications in Chapters 13, 17, and 18. Sampling theory and intersymbol interference concepts are presented in Chapters 11 and 17, as are the information theory concepts and digital signal power and quantization noise equations in Chapter 12. Chapter 13 presents data communication in a noise environment with techniques for detecting and correcting data errors, material on codes, a table of some standard data modems, a short introduction to queuing and basic digital network engineering relationships, OSI, ISDN, and a section on ATM.

Chapters 14 and 15 cover transmission lines and waveguides, antennas, and propagation. Stub-tuner design and complex-impedance Sparameter 2-port problems with simulations provide a good lead-in to a section on microstrip amplifier design. Another Touchstone simulation confirms the microstrip design results.

Chapter 16, which covers television, has been broadened beyond North American/Japanese NTSC with the inclusion of PAL and SECAM format standards. The section on digital video compression and motion-compensation techniques also discusses HDTV including transmission formats and techniques both for broadcast (4- and 16-VSB) and 64-QAM for CATV.

Chapter 17 presents circuit and systems technology for digital radio, space transmission systems with applications for QPSK, and multilevel QAM. The increasingly important areas of the satellite and personal communication system (PCS) multiple-access techniques of FDMA, TDMA, and CDMA, as well as spread-spectrum system concepts, are also included in Chapter 17. There is new material on cellular/PCS systems and circuits.

Fiber-optic communication-link applications are included in Chapter 18. This chapter includes ultralinear DFB lasers and thermal electric coolers, Mach-Zehnder external modulators, fiber amplifiers, and dispersion-shifted fiber technology. A new section enhances analog fiberoptic link analysis, including OMI, laser, and carrier-to-noise performance. An expansion of fiber-optic LANs, with dual counter-rotating rings for digital optical networking, SONET networks, and hybrid fiber/coax networking have been added.

The book is not hard to read and provide lots examples on proofing theory and circuit calculation. The material is very organize and easily to scan through. The concepts are begin with very base all the way to advance application. Of course, if you have an engineering professor with good teaching skill guide you through the book. You should be no problem at all to learn electronic communication materials from this book.

this book was really expensive and we only used it for a couple of chapters. There's a lot of material in each chapter but it doesn't seem that it provides enough practical examples to help you get a broad enligh grasp on the problems.

You buy a book and they stop printing it so the school if forced to buy and use the new version. They have to use the new version so it is available to all students to buy.

The author like the mafia says its time to make money boy's i need a new car this year. Lets switch page 201 with 202 and add a few diffrent pictures and re-print it. Hey boss how about a new house. Sure go get me 2 math books and a physics book i have a few seconds to spare. Then they laugh it up with cigars ,drinking a dark liquor in a glass with 3 ice cubes ,sitting in a big room with a large desk with there feet up.

About the Author
Janet Gonzalez-Mena started her early childhood career in a cooperative preschool as a parent volunteer back in 1966. She then became a Head Start volunteer and ended up as a teacher in a preschool for Spanish-speaking children and their families in 1970’s. She has also helped open several pilot programs including a therapeutic child care program and a home-based bilingual preschool program. When Magda Gerber came into her life in the mid-1970’s, Janet signed up for an internship with her at the Children’s Health Council in Menlo Park, California. As a result of that experience, later, when she became a child care director, she was able to incorporate much of what she learned into her work and was influential in expanding that program to include an infant center. Training and teaching adults has always been sideline, even when she was working with children and families. She worked as a Head Start trainer and as adjunct faculty in 4 community colleges plus the University of California Santa Cruz credential extension program. She taught for 15 years as full time faculty at Napa Valley College in the Child and Family Studies Program. Since 1991, she has been part of the faculty for WestEd’s Program for Infant-Toddler Caregivers (PITC) Training of Trainer Institutes. Janet has been writing along with teaching for all these years and is author of numerous articles and 13 books related to early childhood, including Foundations of Early Childhood Education; Infants, Toddlers, and Caregivers (with co-author Dianne Eyer); and Diversity in Early Care and Education: Honoring Differences (Formerly Multicultural Issues in Child Care). She wrote Dragon Mom about herself as parent to help early childhood professionals alleviate guilt when their parenting doesn't live up to their high standards. Her latest passion is understanding more about the Pikler Institute in Budapest, Hungary, where Magda Gerber came from. It took her 30 years to get there after she first heard of it, but her first trip to it in November of 2003 merely whetted her appetite. She has made two more since and is planning for another one. She is fascinated by the approach and is convinced that this residential nursery is a model for the world. She is continuing to learn more about how this approach can be used to improve infant-toddler care and education programs in the United States. She is also working with a group in Mexico to explore how the approach might fit into their models of residential care for infants and toddlers. Janet has a Master of Arts Degree in Human Development from Pacific Oaks in Pasadena, California.

Tenured Professor of Early Childhood Education / Child Development at Canada College since 1970, Department Coordinator since 1978 (and author of 30 courses within the ECE/CD Department). Dianne has served on various college committees during the last few years including the Articulation Self Study Committee and the Chairperson for the College Council from 2002 to 2004. She received specialized diversity training under Title V in 2002. In the late 1990’s she was a presenter at the Annual Conference of the National Association for the Education of Young Children in Atlanta, GA and Washington D.C. respectively. She is the co-author of Infants, Toddlers and Caregivers, sixth edition, McGraw-Hill, released in 2004. Her community experiences include: Task Force member for the Advancing Careers in Child Development Project (Pacific Oaks College, Pasadena CA); San Mateo County Consortium for Quality Programs; SMC Partnership Council; and membership in SMAEYC. She has been responsible for several grants within the ECE/CD Department including: Foster Care Education, SAFE START/Violence Intervention in ECE (Centers for Disease Control); and the Family Support Program (a PSP and The Council collaboration). She is currently coordinating a grant with First 5 San Mateo County to recruit and retain quality ECE/CD teachers and providers in the field. She is also a Professional Growth Advisor for the Child Development Permit.

Excellent ECE resource

This textbook is required reading for my Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Infants and Toddlers class. It's is well written, easy to read, gives many examples of quality care, and you're able to access videos that complement the teaching. I recommend it to parents who want to learn about how to "respect your baby" in a whole new light. I also recommend it to child care centers because it's easy to distracted in the busyness of everyday work and lose sight of communicating respect to children.

Amazing book for parents and caregivers in childcare

This book is the most wonderful thing I've read on the topic of daycare. The "responsive approach" that it talks about is something that I do anyway, naturally. The outlook on this book helps parents and caregivers gain a perspective of how to help children grow and how to treat them with respect. If they fall down, don't just rush over and pick them up. Ask them if they are ok first, just as you would with an adult. Help children learn to help themselves and discover their own abilities.

If nothing else, get this book over others in the same category. I've read a lot of different materials and this is the most wide, encompassing book on kids and their needs in a responsive care giving situation. i highly recommend this book ! it's truly inspiring and makes you think more about how children think and work in this world.

I have to read this as a textbook for school, but I really like it.
They present a very caring philosophy about how to look after infants and toddlers, and I am learning a lot.
Would highly recommend it for those caring for children of this age group.

OMG! I don't know how Kylie Scott does it, but every time she releases a new book I fall head over heels in love with the leading man. Vaughan Hewson has stolen my heart ( don't worry Mal Ericson- there's still room in my heart for you...lol) ! I even get girl crushes on her leading ladies because they are so snarky. This time around I want to be Lydia Green, ruined wedding dress and all. I wouldn't mind having her assets if it meant Vaughan couldn't stop staring while calling me Babe.

Dirty is the first book in the new Dive Bar series by Kylie Scott. After the end her highly successful Stage Dive series, I wondered what would be next. I knew I was going to miss the Stage Dive members and their unique romances. Kylie Scott has successfully dived off the rock and roll stage and is now making a home in Coeur D'Alene at the Dive Bar. Pull up a stool, crack a cold one, and let Kylie tell you an entertaining story.

Lydia Green is a runaway bride after discovering her groom was having a secret affair with his best man. What's a girl to do when her dreams have been demolished? Run! Escape the humiliation. It may take climbing a six foot fence and finding an itty bitty window open in the house on the other side of the fence. An awkward climb and a crash landing in a bathtub leads Lydia to freedom and new encounters. I found this entertaining and hard to put down, but there were a few elements that prevented me from rating it any higher than 3.5 stars - and that is rounding up. I won't go into all the particulars due to spoiling someone else's reading experience, but I will lightly touch on everything I liked and didn't care for.

What I liked:
Unique romance trope
a-typical hero
Entire story premise
lovable heroine (because I'm very picky about book heroines)
Set-up of continuing series

What I didn't:
Some loose ends
insta-love
some very hasty decision making

Lydia is a wonderfully funny and mostly confident heroine (who doesn't have some insecurities?) and Vaughn enjoys her, quirks and all. I feel Vaughn is an atypical hero, because he is (in a way) down on his luck when it comes to his career and income. On the outside, he appears easy-going, but still dealing with the loss of his parents and his dreams. I liked that he didn't fit the "millionaire" or "successful" mold of most book heroes and it made for a unique romance. Their meet-cute, or more likely meet-crazy, were some of the best scenes.

What I didn't care for were some incidents/events that happened along the way that didn't get settled, mentioned again, or resolved. Since this is a series, it's common to have a thread or two of a continuing story line that runs the length of the series. There were a few of those, but there were also a couple smaller items that related solely to Lydia, Vaughn and the events of this book that just fizzled out without resolution or explanation. As for the insta-love between Lydia and Vaughn, it was a bit fast, but not completely unfathomable. My biggest complaint is a hasty decision made between Vaughn and Lydia that I can't explain without spoilers. Some will think it was a responsible decision, while I found it to be highly irresponsible and the biggest reason I can't go up to a solid 4 stars.

LOVED IT!! Love Mal!!

Loved it!! Reminded me so much of Mal's book, Play. Mal even makes an appearance!! I knew it was him before it was divulged. He has got to be my favorite character of all books I have read. Thank you Kylie!!

Vaughan was so much like Mal character I loved it. Don't get me wrong the stories are totally different but I guess what I'm trying to say is that this book is hilarious. I also cried a few tears but overall the characters were so in tune with one another. Their sense of humor off the charts funny. Some of the reviews mentioned the insta-love was hard to believe but I thought it was so well written I fell for it line and sinker. All of the characters are wonderfully developed and can't wait to read the rest of this series. I loved the stage dive guys I would love to read more about them In this series.

Thank you Kylie. I'm so very glad you brought these characters to life. I was hooked since Lick. What a great book. I think I'll read the series again. This is a standalone book but I highly suggest you read the Stage Dive series. It is totally amazing. Hard to choose. The guys ar all great but hands down Mal is my favorite and I'm soooooo glad he made an appearance in Vaughan's story!! I cried!! Seriously - Pumpkin - yeah LOL. Loved it!!!!

great for ICND1 test, having limited IOS experience

I purchased this book (kindle version) with very limited Cisco experience. I had a decent networking background (i have my MCSA, but no real world experience in network engineering or administration), but not a lot. This book was excellent. the author does a GREAT job at explaining the concepts of each chapter in detail. When showing configurations, he will talk about the principal of the configuration, show how it is done, with the output, then explain why you saw the output and why it works the way it does. I purchased this book, a lab book (something like 101 labs for CCNA) and got a copy of packet tracer. I probably averaged 60-90 minutes of study, 4-5 days most weeks. It took me about 5 weeks to get through the material of the book. After that, i went through and reviewed the questions at the beginning and end of each chapter and did some labs. I took the test another 3 weeks later and scored an 850 on my first try. I am going to purchase the ICND2 book by this author later tonight, and start on the material this week. This is an EXCELLENT book for someone with limited networking background that wants to learn the basics of Cisco Internetworking.

There is also a LARGE emphasis on subnetting. This is because you NEED to know subnetting to pass any cisco test. Take your time to review the practice questions at the beginning and end of each subnetting chapter, as well as in the appendices. They are awesome, and explain the answers, and how to get there, in great detail.

Great Book - some nice extras

This book is an excellent resource for preparing for the ICND1 exam - it covers all of the exam objectives thoroughly and is explained in a very clear but comprehensive way. The hardback version comes with a pretty cool Pearson test engine, which is a handy way of validating if you're ready for the exam, plus a network simulator "Lite" version. This is really just a demo to entice you to buy the full simulator, but its actually pretty good. It is like an ugly, slightly less polished version of Packet Tracer. Still, pretty nice as a little bonus feature with this book. Would definately recommend this book.

I have already read the first four chapters and I feel the author does a great job of explaining things. Very Very fast shipping. Older edition but good enough to be used as reference

This has little bit old information but good enough for learning it for first time use. It's got good illustration and information that's useful like how a human sexual organ, step-by-step arouses and engorges with blood on both genders, and shows which parts are called what and how it changes during sexual arousal. And body parts change position even in anticipation of seminal fluids from male ejaculation. That's all interesting and it further goes into the political and socialization.
