Great reference for artist!

To be great at drawing, painting or sculpting the human body you MUST have a complete understanding of anatomy. For the serious artist this is paramount! Dunlop's book is a great resource and give you a quick and easy way to refer to of different aspects of the human body. My only contention with the book is that it shows less the female form and structure. But over all this a great book to have!

About the Author

Betty A. Dobratz received her Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin and is Professor of Sociology at Iowa State University. She has authored, co-authored, or co-edited 14 books or issues of journals and more than 50 research articles, chapters, and pieces on teaching. Her co-authored book, White Power, White Pride! The White Separatist Movement in the U.S., with Stephanie Shanks-Meile, received two sociology book awards, one from a section of the American Sociological Association (ASA) and the other was from the North Central Sociological Association Scholarly Achievement Award. The book also was one of sixteen sociology books to be included in Choice’s Outstanding Academic Books list for 1998. Her earlier work focused on contemporary Greek politics, and she spent ten months in Greece on a NATO post-doctoral fellowship.

Timothy Buzzell is Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department of History, Culture & Society at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. He teaches courses in Criminology, Deviance, Politics and Society, Religion, Ritual & Belief, as well as Theory in Sociology. In addition, he currently serves as the Coordinator of the Social Justice program. His research on the nature of computer crime and deviance has appeared in the journals Deviant Behavior, Sexuality & Culture, and Criminal Justice Studies. Prior to his appointment at Baker University, he served as the Director of the Iowa Center for Law & Civic Education at the Drake Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. He received his PhD in Sociology from Iowa State University in 1991.

Lisa K. Waldner received her Ph.D. from Iowa State University with Betty A. Dobratz as her dissertation advisor and is currently Professor of Sociology and Chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice at the University of St. Thomas where she teaches courses in research methods, statistics and sexuality. Her research interests include political activism, hate crimes, gay and lesbian issues, and violence in intimate relationships including sexual coercion with her work appearing in several journals including Violence and Victims, Journal of Homosexuality, Aggression and Violent Behavior, and the Journal of Political and Military Sociology. She has received several teaching awards and is heavily involved in promoting student-faculty collaborative research.

Exemplary Introductory Text for Political Sociology

This is an excellent survey for undergraduate students in political sociology. It is clearly written, i.e. readable for
undergraduate students. There is a strong review of theories and concepts that focus on power in a given
society and how power shapes the polity. I especially like the author's explanation/review of theories of the state.

Excellent introduction to risk management

The book is very good and it starts describing the special nature of financial institutions and the industry. Then, in the second part you have complete chapters relating to every risk management: interest rate risk (maturity, repricing gaps and duration focuses, liquidity (e.g.maturity ladder), market risk (standarized Basel Committee and VaR approaches) credit risk (including Basel Committe standarized approach, defalult risk models like credit scoring), operating costs and technology risk, FX risk, sovereign risk.
In the last part there is a good section which describes how to manage risks , including liabilty and liquidity management,deposit insurance, capital adequacy, geographic diversification, derivatives, the new credit risk management techniques and securitization.
I had the chance to have Profesor Saunders as a risk management teacher and I only say that as his classes, his book is great. It shows you the best introduction to risk management. It discusses about financial institutions (banks, insurance and securities). That book just helped me to see financial institutions under the risk focus. I really recommend this book to understand risk management.

I had this instructor at LSU may years ago. The class was much better than the book. The book is poorly organized as are the examples. I have read many circuit analysis books and this is definitely the worst.

Not for the beginner.

I agree with the other two previous reviews.
This is the book that we use to "learn" basic electric circuit analysis. I say "learn" because this book is not written for the 'never-have-seen-this-before'-student. I find it very hard to follow. The authors understand the material so well that they can not see it as the novice would for the first time. I find the layout non-user-friendly and there are many mistakes. Save yourself a lot of frustration by not buying this book. I suggest getting an equivalent book by the author Theodore F. Bogart who is an incredible writer for the beginning learner.

Errors everywhere

With all the errors in the fifth edition of Basic Electric Circuit Analysis, I shudder to think what the earlier editions were like. This may have been a classic but the content in this edition is soured by the lack of attention to detail. As a first time student to circuit analysis, I expected to rely on the information contained in the book. I was treated instead by numerous misleading statements and downright incorrect answers to exercises. This is the first time in my third year as an undergraduate that a textbook has caused me this much grief.

Excellent product for novice of any age...

I love the In Easy Steps series, this book did not disappoint me in any way. The only section that lost it's validity is on Gadgets (small apps if you will), this is not the fault of the authors or anything documented. The problem lies with Microsoft no longer supporting them, abandoning them to focus on Windows 8, or whatever.

The book is well organized with relevant teaching, and once again you basically learn one thing per page, coupled with pictures, that I love, hints, tips, etc. The book covers everything from navigation, internet, all the way up to backup and restoring. For this price it's like getting a college course for next to nothing. This book takes the scary away from an operating system for any novice, in my opinion.

If this is your first operating system or you are upgrading I highly recommend this book, you'll get though everything you want in a few short hours, have a good understanding of where things are, and later the book makes a great reference to go back to things you don't use routinely making research time to relearn nill.

Had purchased "Vista for Seniors" and was pleased with it. This book is also a great one covering Windows 7. It was shipped on a timely basis and was received in very good condition.

We have been teaching Senior Computer classes for years and suggest this book for migrating from XP students, and Sue Price's beginner book for trainees with no experience. Easy for review and to follow instructions . Leejon
